- Survey a Sample:
- “On the subject of X, who are the two or three people whose opinion you really have confidence in?’
- “Whose judgment would you trust on this?”
II. Start in the Network and Work Backward
- Ask five people, then ask the people they identify and so on.
III. Questions
- Do you have an interest in X?
- How would you rate your awareness of X?
- At this time, are you:

- Willing to support X but need more information
- Know enough about X but need to feel better about it first
